From the supplier: State Farm Mutual Automobile Ins. Co. may be fined by the Texas insurance department for refusal to turn over documents requested by the consumer protection program. Attorneys for the insurance department say it needs the documents to investigate consumer complaints about State Farm, which insures 30% of the Texas market, and wants the insurance commissioner to fine the firm $25,000 for each of six investigations.
